About Podcasts

A podcast is a kind of radio show (usually along the lines of a talk radio show) that is made available on the internet as a digital audio file instead of being broadcast. Podcasts are available in several audio formats, but the most common format is the popular MP3 format playable by just about all portable audio players and computers. Podcasts are syndicated across the internet using a technology called RSS. RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication". It is a standard method of packaging website content (news, documents, audio files, etc.) for sharing across the internet.

By plugging this podcast RSS feed link into your own local RSS-enabled audio player software program (Apple's iTunes is a good, cost-free choice), you can scan the podcasts published on the Mental Help Net website without having to actually visit the website. Once you have subscribed to a feed, new podcast files will be automatically downloaded whenever you refresh your audio player. Clicking on a podcast's link within your RSS-aware audio software will usually cause the podcast to play.
