Dr. Warren Selekman is Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Adelphi University. During his 28 years of university teaching he published several papers on The Experimental Analysis of Behavior and graduated 5 doctoral students. He helped pioneer Adelphi's launch into Web technology by being the systems administrator for Adelphi TopClass, an asynchronous distance learning program. He also continues to be the manager of Adelphi's WebBoard Humor Board. Dr. Selekman was also an innovator in the classroom using multimedia and was the first Adelphi professor to teach courses via teleconferencing.

Since Dr. Selekman retired in 1998 he has devoted his normal work hours to his busy clinical schedule in the Bronx, New York. He sees a broad spectrum of clinical cases but specializes in couples and marital therapy, chemical dependency, sexual and incestual trauma, depression, anxiety and phobias, anger control, and stress management. Over his 20 plus years of practice, he has been the clinical director of several programs including a licensed chemical treatment program with Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Dr. Selekman has played a leadership role in several online mental health support communities. He was very active in the early Mental Help Net Community (between approximately 1999 and 2002) as Adjunct Community Editor. When that community was separated from Mental Help Net in 2002 and transitioned to become the Mental Earth Community (MEC) Dr. Selekman took over ownership of MEC. He maintained and cared for MEC for four years until passing that responsibility on to Eros in 2006.

Dr. Selekman lives with his family in the middle of the East River facing Manhattan on Roosevelt Island where he tends to his passions of racquet ball, fitness, movies, and the pursuit of humor.
